Interactions and incompatibilities
• Specific studies in dogs did not show interactions between marbofloxacin and anesthetic agents such as isoflurane and medetomidine/ketamine combinations.
• Due to the absence of specific studies, the possibility of interactions should not be excluded.
Indications and target species
Treatment of infections produced by bacteria sensitive to marbofloxacin.
Dogs: Treatments of infected wounds and abscesses, treatments of lower urinary tract infections due to Escherichia coli y Proteus mirabilis, prevention of surgical infections by Staphylococcus intermedius, Escherichia coli y Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Cats: Treatment of infected wounds and abscesses, prevention of surgical infections by Staphylococcus intermedius, Escherichia coli y Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
• In curative indications, the product must be used only after verifying the sensitivity of the strains.

efectos secundarios
On very rare occasions, neurological signs (epileptic seizures, ataxia, mydriasis, muscle tremors...), digestive signs (hypersalivation, emesis) and injection site reactions have been reported after treatment. In case of severe reactions, a symptomatic treatment has to be initiated.
Route of administration
Subcutaneous and intravenous.
Posology
Prepare the solution by introducing the entire content of the solvent vial into the lyophilized vial.
Dogs:
• Treatment of infected wounds and abscesses: 2 mg marbofloxacin/kg/day as a single subcutaneous injection, followed by daily administration of marbofloxacin tablets orally for 6 days.
• Treatment of lower urinary tract infections: 4 mg marbofloxacin/kg/day in 3 subcutaneous injections at 4-day intervals.
• Prevention of surgical infections: 2 mg marbofloxacin/kg as a single intravenous injection just before surgery.
Cats:
• Treatment of infected wounds and abscesses: 2 mg marbofloxacin/kg/day as a single subcutaneous injection for 3 to 5 days.
• Prevention of surgical infections: 2 mg marbofloxacin/kg as a single intravenous injection just before surgery. Overdose: In case of overdose neurological symptoms may appear:
hypersalivation, tearing, tremors, myoclonus and seizures. In case of severe reactions, symptomatic treatment should be initiated.
Cases of bradycardia could also be observed.

• Before reconstitution: This veterinary medicinal product does not require special storage conditions.
• After reconstitution: Do not store at temperatures above 25 °C, keep the vial in the outer carton in order to protect it from light.
• Shelf-life after reconstitution according to instructions: 28 days.
