Pharmacological properties
Cloxacillin is active against the main Gram (+) germs that cause bovine mastitis:
Staphylococcus spp. sensitive or resistant to penicillin (producers of â-lactamase), Streptococcus
agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis y Corynebacterium spp.
Due to its activity and persistence, Orbenin Extra, in addition to ensuring the treatment of cases
subclinical and residual at the time of drying the cow, reduces the incidence of new
infections during the dry period and the risk of new ones at the time of delivery.
Interactions and incompatibilities
Orbenin Extra has been shown to be compatible with milk-based internal teat dips.

Indications and target species
Cows: Mastitis, dry period treatment.
Contraindications
Do not apply the preparation to lactating cows or those with a dry period of less than
35 days.

Posology
Cows: At the end of the lactation period, after the last milking, thoroughly clean and disinfect the
teats and administer one syringe to each quarter and not milk again until after calving,
when the cow will be milked normally. If used concomitantly with a sealant
approved (eg bismuth subnitrate) liner, Orbenin Extra should be administered in
first and then the internal sealant in accordance with its authorized conditions of use.

Meat: 28 days.
Milk: 4 days postpartum.
