Composition:
Noroclav 500 mg flavored tablets for dogs contain 400 mg amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and 100 mg clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate).
Both presentations contain carmoisine (E122) as an excipient.
Indications and target species
Dogs: Treatment of the following infections caused by β-lactamase-producing strains
of bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin in combination with clavulanic acid:
• Skin infections (including superficial and deep pyodermas) caused by susceptible staphylococci.
• Urinary tract infections caused by staphylococci or Escherichia coli susceptible.
• Respiratory infections caused by susceptible staphylococci. enteritis caused by Escherichia coli susceptible.
Contraindications
• Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or gerbils.
• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins or other substances of the beta-lactam group.
• Do not use in animals with severe renal dysfunction associated with anuria or oliguria.
• Do not use when resistance to this combination is known to exist.
Route of administration
Orally.
Posology
Dose: 12,5 mg of the combination of active substances/kg body weight twice daily (equivalent to one 500 mg tablet per 40 kg bw).
• Most cases respond with a therapy of 5 to 7 days.
• Chronic or refractory cases: In cases where there is considerable tissue damage, a longer duration of therapy will be necessary to allow sufficient time to repair the damaged tissue.

500 mg tablets: Box with 2, 5 and 20 blisters containing 5 tablets per blister.
