COMPOSITION PER DOSE UNIT:

Cats <2,5 kg: Dose unit (0,3 mL): Fipronil 24,9 mg; S methoprene 30 mg; eprinomectin 1,20 mg; praziquantel 24,9mg; butylated hydroxytoluene (E 321) 1 mg/ml.

Cats 2,5-7,5 kg: Dose unit (0,9 mL): Fipronil 74,7 mg; S methoprene 90 mg; eprinomectin 3,60 mg; praziquantel 74,7mg; butylated hydroxytoluene (E 321) 1 mg/ml.

How to apply the pipette to a cat? 

INDICATIONS

Cats: Individuals with, or at risk of, mixed infestations by cestodes, nematodes, and ectoparasites. The veterinary medicinal product is exclusively indicated when three groups are to be treated at the same time.

Ectoparasites:

Treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas (Ctenocephalides felis). Elimination of fleas in the first 24 hours. One treatment prevents further infestations for at least a month.

Prevention of environmental contamination by fleas by inhibiting the development of the immature stages of fleas (eggs, larvae and pupae) for more than one month.

The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of the treatment strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).

Treatment and prevention of infestations by ticks (Ixodes ricinus). Elimination of ticks in the first 48 hours. One treatment prevents up to 3 weeks of further infestations.

Treatment of notoedric mange (Notoedres cati).

Cestodes:

Treatment of tapeworm infestations (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis, Echinococcus multilocularis).

Nematodes:

Treatment of infestations by gastrointestinal nematodes (L3, L4 larvae and adults of Toxocara cati, L4 larvae and adults of Ancylostoma tubaeforme, and adult forms of Toxascaris leonina and Ancylostoma braziliense).

Treatment of feline lungworm infestations (L3 larvae, L4 larvae and adults of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus).

Treatment of infestations by bladder worms (Capillaria plica).

Prevention of heartworms (dirofilaria immitis larvae) for one month.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Do not use in sick or convalescent animals.
• Do not use in rabbits.
• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

• Temporary caking of the hair and mild and transient skin reactions in the area of ​​application (itching, hair loss) have been frequently observed after treatment in clinical trials.
• Temporary excessive salivation after licking the application site after treatment was frequently observed in clinical trials.
• Digestive tract and/or neurological disorders may occur after accidental oral ingestion of the veterinary medicinal product.

If these signs do not resolve spontaneously within 24 hours, symptomatic treatment may be required.

ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION

Topical, by punctual dorsal anointing.

• Use scissors to cut the blister along the dotted line, then remove the cover. Take the applicator out of the package and hold it upright. Pull the plunger back slightly, turn and remove the cap. Part the hair on either side of the midline of the neck, between the base of the skull and the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the applicator on the skin and apply all the content in a single point of application. The product should be applied to dry skin in an area where the cat cannot lick it off. Special attention should be paid in long-haired breeds to ensure that it is applied directly to the skin and not to the hair, in order to guarantee optimal effectiveness.

POSOLOGY

Cats: The minimum recommended doses are 10 mg/kg of body weight for fipronil, 12 mg/kg for (S)methoprene, 0,5 mg/kg for eprinomectin and 10 mg/kg for praziquantel.

• Select the appropriate applicator size for the weight of the cat.
• Prevention of heartworms (heartworm larvae) should begin within 1 month after the first exposure to mosquitoes may occur.
• For treatment against Aelurostrongylus abstrusus, a second administration may be recommended one month after the initial treatment.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Special precautions for use in animals:

• For spot on application only. Do not inject, do not administer orally or by any other route. Avoid contact with the cat's eyes.
• The safety of Broadline Spot on Solution for Cats has not been established at intervals of less than 2 weeks, nor in kittens less than 0,6 kg and/or less than 7 weeks of age.
• Broadline Spot on Solution for Cats is not intended for use in dogs. Some dog breeds may be more sensitive to macrocyclic lactones, triggering potential signs of neurotoxicity. Therefore, oral ingestion should be avoided in collies, English sheepdogs and related breeds or their crosses.

Use during pregnancy and lactation:

• The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy or lactation. Laboratory studies conducted with the individual ingredients in rats and rabbits have not shown teratogenic, fetal-toxic, or maternally toxic effects. Use only in accordance with the benefit/risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.

Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:

• Do not smoke, drink or eat during application. Wash hands after use.
• Avoid contact of the applicator content with your fingers. If this occurs, wash with soap and water to remove the contents. In case of accidental exposure to the eyes, wash them with plenty of water as the product may cause slight irritation to the mucous membrane and the eye. If eye irritation persists or if adverse reactions are observed, consult a physician and show the package insert or label.
• Handling of treated animals should be limited until the application area is dry and children should not be allowed to play with treated animals during this time period. It is therefore recommended that recently treated animals not sleep with their owners, especially children.
• People with a known hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or to the excipients should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product.
