Qualitative and Quantitative Composition

Each ml contains:

• Active substance: Cyclosporine 100 mg.
• Main excipients:
  • All rac-α-tocopherol (E 307): 1,05 mg.
  • Anhydrous ethanol (E 1510): 94,70 mg.
  • Propylene glycol (E 1520): 94,70 mg.

Pharmaceutical form

Oral solution: Clear liquid with a color between yellow and brownish.

Indications and Target Species

• Cats: Symptomatic treatment of chronic allergic dermatitis.
• Dogs: Treatment of clinical manifestations of chronic atopic dermatitis.

Dosage and Administration

Cats:

• Initial dose: 7 mg/kg of body weight (0,07 ml of oral solution/kg).
• Frequency: Administer daily until clinical improvement is observed (4–8 weeks).
• Maintenance: Reduce frequency to alternate days, and eventually to every 3–4 days based on clinical response.
• Administration:
  • Mix with a small amount of food after a period of fasting.
  • If the cat rejects the mixture, administer directly into the mouth with the dispensing syringe.

Dogs:

• Initial dose: 5 mg/kg of body weight (0,05 ml of oral solution/kg).
• Frequency:
  • Administer daily until improvement is seen (usually within 4 weeks).
  • Reduce to alternate days as a maintenance dose.
• Administration:
  • Administer orally at least 2 hours before or after meals.
  • Insert the syringe directly into the throat to ensure the full dose.

Contraindications

• Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine or its excipients.
• Contraindicated in animals with a history of progressive malignant disorders.
• Do not vaccinate with live vaccines during treatment or in the two weeks before/after.
• Cats: Do not use in cats infected with FeLV or FIV.
• Dogs: Do not administer to puppies under 6 months or weighing less than 2 kg.

Side effects

• Very common: Vomiting, diarrhea, loose or mucous stools in cats and dogs.
• Frequent: Lethargy, anorexia, weight loss, hypersalivation and lymphopenia in cats.
• Rare: Lymphadenopathy, secondary infections, skin reactions (coat changes, warts), and symptoms associated with prolonged immunosuppression.
• Note: These effects are generally mild and transient and do not require discontinuation of treatment. Consult your veterinarian if they persist.

Special Precautions

In Animals:

• Confirm the diagnosis before starting treatment.
• Control and treat flea infestations, bacterial or fungal infections prior to treatment.
• Monitor dogs with renal insufficiency or history of diabetes mellitus due to risk of hyperglycemia.
• Avoid concomitant use of other immunosuppressive agents.
• In cats, re-evaluate clinical response periodically to adjust dosing frequency.

In People:

• Wash hands after administration.
• Avoid contact of the product with eyes, skin or mouth.
• In case of accidental ingestion, seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Interactions

• Plasma levels of cyclosporine increase:
  • Ketoconazole: Raises levels up to 5 times.
  • Erythromycin: Doubles plasma levels.
• Plasma levels decrease:
  • Anticonvulsants (phenobarbital).
  • Antibiotics (trimethoprim/sulfadimidine).
• Caution in combination with:
  • Macrocyclic lactones such as ivermectin and milbemycin (potential neurotoxicity).
  • Aminoglycoside antibiotics (potential nephrotoxicity).

Conservation Mode

• Store between 15 ° C and 30 ° C, preferably not below 20°C for more than one month.
• Do not refrigerate.
• If the solution forms a gel or sediment at low temperatures, it must be heated to 30 °C to reverse it.
