Ophtocycline is an ophthalmic ointment for veterinary use, formulated to effectively treat various eye infections in animals such as dogs, cats, and horses. Thanks to its active ingredient, chlortetracycline , it acts against bacteria responsible for conditions such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, and blepharitis , promoting rapid recovery and a visible improvement in eye health.

Composition (per gram)

• Chlortetracycline hydrochloride: 10 mg (equivalent to 9,3 mg of chlortetracycline base)

• Excipients: lanolin, light liquid paraffin, soft white paraffin

Therapeutic indications

Recommended for the treatment of:

• Bacterial conjunctivitis caused by strains such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus.

• Corneal inflammations (keratitis) and eyelid inflammations (blepharitis), caused by susceptible bacteria.

• Preventive cases or early stages of eye infection to avoid complications.

How to use and dosage

For dogs and cats:
Administer 0,5 to 2 cm of ointment into the conjunctival sac, four times a day for five consecutive days. Reassess treatment if there are no signs of improvement within 72 hours.

In horses:
Apply 2 to 3 cm of the product, also four times a day for five days. If there is no response after three days, another therapy should be considered.

Recommendation: Use waterproof gloves to avoid contact with the skin during application.
