What is Metacam and what is it used for?

Metacam is indicated for:

• Dogs: Relief of inflammation and pain in acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Reduction of postoperative pain in orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.
• Cats: Postoperative pain control after ovariohysterectomies or minor surgeries.

• Meloxicam: 5 mg.

Dosage and administration

Routes of administration:

• Cats: 0,30 mg of meloxicam/kg of body weight, in a single dose.

Note: For dogs with musculoskeletal disorders, treatment may continue with Metacam oral suspension or chewable tablets as directed by the veterinarian.

Cautions and warnings

1. Do not administer in case of:
   • Dehydrated, hypovolemic or hypotensive animals.
   • Pregnancy, lactation or animals under 6 weeks (dogs) and 2 kg (cats).
   • Gastrointestinal, liver, kidney or heart diseases.
2. Avoid combinations with:
   • Other NSAIDs, glucocorticoids or nephrotoxic medications.
