2. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

20 mg tablet: a brown, mottled, biconvex, oval, scored tablet, debossed on one side with the number “20” on one side of the score and the letters “MG” on the other, and debossed with the letter “G”. on the other side.

60 mg tablet: a brown, mottled, biconvex, oval, scored tablet, debossed on one side with the number “60” on one side of the score and the letters “MG” on the other, and debossed with the letter “G”. on the other side.

100 mg tablet: a brown, mottled, biconvex, oval, scored tablet, debossed on one side with the number “100” on one side of the score and the letters “MG” on the other, and debossed with the letter “G”. on the other side.

The tablet can be divided into 2 equal parts.

Indications for use, specifying the target species

For the treatment of pain associated with mild to moderate osteoarthritis in dogs.

Contraindications

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Do not use in pregnant, lactating or breeding animals.

Special warnings for each target species

Most of the clinical cases analyzed in the field studies had mild to moderate osteoarthritis according to the veterinarian's criteria. To achieve a response to treatment, the veterinary medicinal product should only be used in cases of mild or moderate osteoarthritis.

Taking into account the two clinical field studies, the overall success rates at 28 days from the start of treatment were 51,3% (120/235) in the Galliprant-treated group, and 35,5% (82 /231) in the group treated with placebo, based on the CBPI test (Canine Brief Pain Inventory, as completed by the dog owners). This difference in favor of Galliprant was statistically significant (p = 0,0008).

Clinical response to treatment is usually seen within 7 days. If no clinical improvement is seen after 14 days, Galliprant treatment should be discontinued and different treatment options discussed with the veterinarian.
