Composition:
Doxycycline (hyclate) 100 mg; excipient csp 1 ml.
Indications and target species
Canaries y ornament birds in general: Treatment of infectious, respiratory or
digestive disorders caused by sensitive microorganisms. Treatment of chlamydiasis in psittacines. In view of
any infectious process, bacteriological confirmation of the diagnosis and
performing a sensitivity test of the bacteria causing the process.
Contraindications
• Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.
• Do not administer to animals with liver disorders.

Cases of photosensitization have been described.
In very prolonged treatments, digestive disorders may appear due to intestinal dysbiosis.
Route of administration
Orally.
Posology
In drinking water at a rate of 50 mg of doxycycline/kg bw, for 5 consecutive days. must, in
each case, establish the average water consumption of the animals to be treated; by way of orientation
150 ml of water can be taken as a standard consumption for each kg of bw/day, in which case the dose
to be administered will correspond to 7 drops of Tabernil® Doxycycline per 100 ml of water/day.
• For the treatment of chlamydiasis in psittacines, it will be administered directly to the animals,
for 45 consecutive days, twice a day, the dose of 50 mg of doxycycline/kg bw (equivalent to 0,5
ml of Tabernil® Doxycycline/kg bw). This dose corresponds to 1 drop of Tabernil® Doxycycline per
each 100 g of bw of the animals, administered twice a day.
• For a correct dosage, it is necessary to individually weigh the animals to be treated in order to
establish the dose, taking as a basis that each drop provides 5 mg of doxycycline.
Special precautions
• Do not handle the product if there is hypersensitivity to tetracyclines. Avoid contact with the
skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash abundantly with clear water.
• Do not smoke, eat or drink while handling the product.
• Swelling of the face, lips or eyes or difficulty breathing are more serious signs than
require urgent medical attention.
• If symptoms appear after exposure, such as a skin rash, consult a doctor and
display such warnings.
