ZOOGAMA-D 5L is a topical antiparasitic solution for sheep. It treats and prevents scabies, lice, fleas, ticks, Melophagus ovinus, flies, and their larvae. The active ingredient diazinon acts as an inhibitor of cholinesterase in parasites.
For scabies treatment, sheep must be fully immersed in the bath except for the head and ears for at least one minute. The head is immersed at least twice, allowing the animal to breathe between immersions. For tick infestations, bathe sheep in spring before lambing and repeat after 6 weeks if severe.
Diazinon concentration is 150 mg per ml. Bath preparation uses 250 mg diazinon per liter of water (20 ml Zoogama-D in 12 liters). Spray preparation uses 625 mg diazinon per liter of water (50 ml Zoogama-D in 12 liters).
