ZOOGAMA-D is a topical solution containing diazinon, an organophosphate antiparasitic agent. It works by inhibiting cholinesterase in parasites, causing their paralysis and death. The product is indicated for the control and prevention of scabies, lice, fleas, ticks, keds, and flies and their larvae in sheep.
For scabies treatment, sheep must be fully immersed in the bath except for the head and ears for at least one minute. The head is immersed at least twice, allowing the animal to breathe between immersions. For tick infestations, bathing in spring before lambing is recommended, with a repeat bath after 6 weeks if infestation is severe.
The product is applied topically as a bath or spray. Bath concentration is 250 mg diazinon per liter of water (20 ml Zoogama-D in 12 liters of water). Spray concentration is 625 mg diazinon per liter of water (50 ml Zoogama-D in 12 liters of water).
