ZOOGAMA-D 1L is a topical solution for external parasite control in sheep. It contains diazinon, an organophosphate that inhibits acetylcholinesterase in parasites, leading to paralysis and death. The product is effective against scabies mites, lice, fleas, ticks, Melophagus ovinus, and flies including their larvae.
For scabies treatment, sheep must be fully immersed in a bath for at least one minute, with the head dipped twice allowing breathing between dips. For tick infestations, bathe sheep in spring before lambing and repeat after 6 weeks if severe. Use a bath solution of 250 mg diazinon per liter of water (20 ml Zoogama-D in 12 liters) or a spray solution of 625 mg diazinon per liter (50 ml in 12 liters).
Do not administer to sick, convalescent, weak, exhausted, or thirsty animals. Avoid use on animals with open wounds or under 4 weeks old. Do not mix with other baths or bathe sheep with less than 2 weeks of wool growth. Avoid bathing in wet, stormy, or extreme weather.
