VERMIVET 5L is an internal antiparasitic from the tetrahydroimidazothiazole group. It contains levamisole, the levo isomer of tetramisol. It treats gastrointestinal and lung nematodes in their adult and larval forms in cattle, pigs, sheep, and poultry.
The drug acts as a ganglion stimulant, causing sustained muscle contraction followed by relaxation in nematodes. This paralyzes the parasite and leads to its elimination from the host. At high concentrations, it may inhibit the enzyme fumarate reductase.
VERMIVET is active against Dictyocaulus spp., Protostrongylus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Ostertagia spp. (except inhibited larvae), Haemonchus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp., and Chabertia spp. Withdrawal period for meat is 7 days. Do not use in animals producing milk or eggs for human consumption.
Each ml contains Levamisole HCl 30 mg.

For poultry: 7.5-10 ml per 10 kg body weight in drinking water over one day. For pigs: 3 ml per 10 kg body weight in a single dose. For sheep: 3 ml per 10 kg body weight in a single dose, maximum 17.5 ml per animal. For cattle: 3 ml per 10 kg body weight in a single dose, maximum 88 ml per animal. Do not exceed recommended doses.
