Treats NYHA class II-IV congestive heart failure in dogs.
VASOTOP is an oral ACE inhibitor for dogs with congestive heart failure caused by chronic degenerative valvular disease or cardiomyopathy. It is indicated for NYHA class II, III, and IV decompensation. The active substance ramipril reduces the workload on the heart by inhibiting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.
VASOTOP can be used with or without furosemide and digoxin. In dogs treated with both VASOTOP and furosemide, the diuretic dose may be reduced while maintaining the same effect. The tablets contain ramipril at 0.625 mg per tablet.
Efficacy data from the description show that VASOTOP improves clinical signs of heart failure. The product is manufactured by MSD Animal Health and comes in oral tablet form.
Active ingredient: Ramipril 0.625 mg per tablet. Excipient: Ferric oxide brown (E 172) 1.0 mg.
