This veterinary medicinal product treats and prevents mixed parasitic infestations in cats. It targets ectoparasites including fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.), ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes hexagonus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), and biting lice (Felicola subrostratus). It also treats adult roundworms (Toxocara cati) and hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) and prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis.
The product contains selamectin and sarolaner. Selamectin kills adult fleas before they lay eggs and has ovicidal and larvicidal activity to help control environmental flea infestations. Sarolaner kills ticks after they attach and begin feeding. The immediate and persistent flea killing activity lasts 5 weeks. The acaricidal effect lasts 5 weeks against Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes hexagonus, and 4 weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus.
This product is indicated only when concurrent treatment against ticks and one or more other target parasites is needed. It can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
Each 0.25 ml pipette contains selamectin 15 mg and sarolaner 2.5 mg.
For cats with or at risk of mixed parasitic infestations by ticks, fleas, lice, mites, gastrointestinal nematodes, or heartworm. Treats and prevents flea infestations for 5 weeks, treats tick infestations for 4-5 weeks, treats ear mites, biting lice, roundworms, and hookworms, and prevents heartworm disease.
