This veterinary medicine treats and prevents mixed parasitic infestations in cats, including fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.), ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes hexagonus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), biting lice (Felicola subrostratus), roundworms (Toxocara cati), and hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme). It also prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis with monthly use.
The product contains selamectin and sarolaner. Selamectin kills adult fleas before they lay eggs and has ovicidal and larvicidal activity to control environmental flea infestations. Sarolaner kills ticks after they attach and start feeding. The medicine provides immediate and persistent flea activity for 5 weeks and tick activity for 5 weeks against Ixodes species and 4 weeks against Dermacentor and Rhipicephalus species.
Efficacy data shows the medicine treats and prevents flea infestations for 5 weeks. It can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergic dermatitis.
