In dogs, SPORIMUNE treats chronic atopic dermatitis. In cats, it treats symptomatic chronic allergic dermatitis, which may present as eosinophilic plaques, head and neck excoriation, symmetric alopecia, and miliary dermatitis.
Efficacy data from clinical trials show that adverse reactions are uncommon in dogs and generally mild and transient. In two clinical trials with 98 cats treated with ciclosporin, very common side effects included gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting or diarrhea, which were moderate and transient.
