SPASMOBRONCHAL 0.03 mg/mL injectable solution is indicated in horses as an adjunct treatment for respiratory processes involving bronchial muscle spasm of any origin. It treats cough and dyspnea due to bronchial spasms, subacute and chronic bronchitis with bronchoconstriction symptoms, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In acute and subacute cases of bronchitis and bronchopneumonia, administer in combination with antibiotics and/or sulfonamides, and if possible with bronchosecretolytics.
The active substance clenbuterol hydrochloride is a direct-acting beta-2 sympathomimetic agent. It causes dilation of the bronchi and has a considerable influence on bronchial clearance mechanisms: viscous mucus becomes fluid and is eliminated rapidly. Respiratory difficulty and the frequency and intensity of cough subside within a few days of regular administration.
Its effect appears quickly and lasts for 6 to 8 hours. For prophylaxis in animals expected to have hypersensitivity reactions to certain allergens (stable dust, old hay feed, etc.), administer the product before exposure to the triggering allergen.
