The collar contains the active substance deltamethrin at 40 mg/g. Deltamethrin acts as a repellent and anti-feeding agent against parasites. It disrupts the nervous system of insects and ticks on contact.
The collar starts working one week after application. Occasional water contact does not reduce efficacy during the first 6 months. Efficacy from 6 to 12 months in contact with water has not been demonstrated. The effect of shampoo baths has not been evaluated.
