It treats infections caused by sensitive germs including Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Corynebacterium, Pasteurella, Bordetella, Acinetobacter, Mycoplasma, Bacteroides, Clostridium perfringens, Ehrlichia, and Chlamydia. These infections commonly affect the respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, and genital system.
The active ingredient doxycycline works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, stopping bacterial growth. This mechanism targets both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as certain intracellular organisms like Mycoplasma and Ehrlichia.
For acute cases, treatment lasts 3 to 5 days. For chronic cases, treatment extends to 8 to 10 days. Administer tablets with food for best absorption.
