RONAXAN is a broad spectrum antibacterial containing doxycycline hyclate. It treats infections caused by sensitive germs including Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Corynebacterium, Pasteurella, Bordetella, Acinetobacter, Mycoplasma, Bacteroides, Clostridium perfringens, Ehrlichia, and Chlamydia. It is indicated for respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, and genital tract infections.
The active ingredient doxycycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. It achieves high tissue penetration and is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria as well as intracellular organisms.
Dosage is 10 mg doxycycline per kg body weight once daily. For acute cases treat for 3 to 5 days. For chronic cases treat for 8 to 10 days. Administer tablets with food.
Each tablet contains doxycycline hyclate 100 mg.
For dogs: respiratory infections, tonsillitis, pneumonia, dermatitis, abscesses, genitourinary infections, metritis, and ehrlichiosis. For cats: respiratory infections, tonsillitis, pneumonia, coryza, dermatitis, abscesses, genitourinary infections, and metritis.
Dogs and cats: 10 mg doxycycline per kg body weight once daily. This equals 1 tablet per 10 kg body weight per day. Treat for 3 to 5 days in acute cases and 8 to 10 days in chronic cases. Administer with food.
