RILEXINE 12 syringes treat and prevent bovine mastitis caused by Staphylococcus sp, Streptococcus agalactiae, dysgalactiae, and uberis, Corynebacterium sp, Clostridium perfringens, E. coli, Proteus mirabilis and vulgaris, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pasteurella sp. It is a first generation cephalosporin with bactericidal action. The benzathine salt maintains activity for 4 weeks.
The active ingredient resists beta lactamases and diffuses well through mammary parenchyma. Administer one syringe per quarter as a single dose after the last milking during the dry period, about 2 months before calving. Treat all four quarters simultaneously.
Mild mucosal irritation may occur, shown by cell count, and resolves within a few days. No withdrawal period is required. Use with veterinary prescription.
