RAPIFAN 100 mg/ml is a choleretic and cholagogue injectable solution indicated for indigestion, anorexia, and constipation in pigs and dogs; indigestion, food poisoning, ketosis, and anorexia in cattle; indigestion and pregnancy toxemia in sheep and goats; and digestive disorders and colic in horses.
The active substance menbutone stimulates the endocrine glands of the digestive tract, increasing the excretion of bile, gastric, and pancreatic juices into the intestine by 2 to 5 times normal secretion. It also stimulates gastrointestinal tract function.
In calves, a single intramuscular dose reaches peak plasma concentration in 2 to 4 hours, with an elimination half-life of 7 to 8 hours. Excretion is primarily via urine (40-45% of the dose within 48 hours), with small amounts in feces and milk.
