Increases bile, gastric, and pancreatic secretion 2 to 5 times normal levels.
RAPIFAN 100 mg/ml is a choleretic and cholagogue injectable solution used to treat indigestion, anorexia, and constipation in pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs. It also addresses pregnancy toxemia in sheep and goats, food poisoning and ketosis in cattle, and colic in horses.
The active ingredient menbutone stimulates the endocrine glands of the digestive tract, increasing the excretion of bile, gastric, and pancreatic juices into the intestine by 2 to 5 times normal secretion. This enhances gastrointestinal motility and function.
In calves, a single intramuscular dose reaches peak plasma concentration in 2 to 4 hours, with an elimination half-life of 7 to 8 hours. Up to 40-45% of the dose is excreted in urine within 48 hours, with small amounts in feces and milk.
Each ml contains 100 mg of menbutone.
RAPIFAN is indicated for indigestion, anorexia, and constipation in pigs, dogs, cattle, sheep, and goats. It also treats pregnancy toxemia in sheep and goats, food poisoning and ketosis in cattle, and digestive disorders and colic in horses.
1 ml per 10 kg body weight per day. Administer by deep intramuscular or slow intravenous injection. In horses, use only slow intravenous injection. If needed, a second dose may be given after 24 hours. Do not inject more than 20 ml intramuscularly at one site.
