Treats infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to tylosin in multiple species.
PHARMASIN 250 ml injectable solution treats infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to tylosin. It is indicated for cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs. The active substance is tylosin at 200 mg/ml, a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis.
In adult cattle, it treats respiratory infections, metritis caused by Gram positive microorganisms, mastitis caused by Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., or Mycoplasma, and necrobacillosis interdigital (panaritium or septic pododermatitis). In calves, it treats respiratory infections and necrobacillosis. In pigs, it treats enzootic pneumonia, hemorrhagic enteritis, erysipelas, uterine inflammation, and arthritis caused by Mycoplasma and Staphylococcus spp. In sheep and goats, it treats respiratory infections, metritis caused by Gram positive microorganisms, and mastitis caused by Gram positive microorganisms or Mycoplasma spp.
Due to possible variability in bacterial susceptibility, bacteriological sampling and sensitivity testing are recommended. Use different injection sites for repeated doses to reduce resistance risk. The product is a pale yellow to amber liquid for injection.
Active substance: Tylosin 200 mg/ml (200,000 IU/ml). Excipients: Benzyl alcohol (E1519) 40 mg/ml.
