Treats infections caused by beta lactamase producing bacteria in dogs.
NOROCLAV 50mg tablets are an oral antibacterial treatment for dogs. They treat skin infections including superficial and deep pyoderma caused by susceptible staphylococci. They also treat urinary tract infections caused by susceptible staphylococci or Escherichia coli, respiratory infections caused by susceptible staphylococci, and enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia coli.
Each tablet contains 40 mg of amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and 10 mg of clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate). Amoxicillin is a broad spectrum penicillin antibiotic. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, allowing amoxicillin to act effectively.
The recommended dose is 12.5 mg per kg body weight twice daily. Most cases respond within 5 to 7 days. Chronic or refractory cases with considerable tissue damage may require longer therapy.
