Treats skin, urinary tract, and respiratory infections caused by susceptible bacteria in dogs.
NOROCLAV 50mg tablets are an oral antibacterial combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid for dogs. Amoxicillin kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. This combination treats infections caused by susceptible staphylococci and Escherichia coli strains.
Indicated for superficial and deep pyoderma (skin infections), urinary tract infections, and respiratory infections caused by susceptible staphylococci. Also treats enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia coli. Most cases respond to 5 to 7 days of therapy, though chronic or refractory cases may require longer treatment to allow tissue repair.
Contraindicated in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins or other beta-lactams, severe renal dysfunction with anuria or oliguria, or known resistance to this combination.
Each tablet contains 40 mg amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and 10 mg clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate). Excipient: carmoisine (E122).
For dogs: treatment of skin infections (including superficial and deep pyoderma) caused by susceptible staphylococci; urinary tract infections caused by susceptible staphylococci or Escherichia coli; respiratory infections caused by susceptible staphylococci; enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia coli.
12.5 mg/kg body weight twice daily (equivalent to one 250 mg tablet per 20 kg body weight). Most cases respond to 5 to 7 days of therapy. Chronic or refractory cases with considerable tissue damage may require longer treatment.
