Treats skin, urinary, and respiratory infections caused by susceptible bacteria in dogs.
NOROCLAV is an oral antibacterial tablet for dogs. It treats skin infections including superficial and deep pyoderma caused by susceptible staphylococci. It also treats urinary tract infections caused by staphylococci or Escherichia coli, respiratory infections caused by susceptible staphylococci, and enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia coli.
The combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis and overcoming beta-lactamase resistance. Clavulanic acid irreversibly binds to beta-lactamase enzymes, protecting amoxicillin from degradation and extending its spectrum against resistant bacteria.
Most cases respond to 5 to 7 days of therapy. Chronic or refractory cases with considerable tissue damage may require longer treatment to allow sufficient time for tissue repair.
Each tablet contains 200 mg amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and 50 mg clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate Ph. Eur.). Contains carmoisine (E122) as excipient.
For dogs: treatment of skin infections (including superficial and deep pyoderma) caused by susceptible staphylococci; urinary tract infections caused by susceptible staphylococci or Escherichia coli; respiratory infections caused by susceptible staphylococci; enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia coli.
12.5 mg/kg body weight twice daily (equivalent to one 250 mg tablet per 20 kg body weight). Most cases respond to 5 to 7 days of therapy. Chronic or refractory cases may require longer treatment.

It combines amoxicillin (a penicillin-type antibiotic) with clavulanic acid, which inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes that bacteria produce to resist amoxicillin. This combination restores amoxicillin's effectiveness against resistant bacteria.
