MODULIS Oral Solution treats clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs. It contains cyclosporine, a selective immunosuppressant that acts specifically and reversibly on T lymphocytes.
Cyclosporine exerts anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects. It inhibits T lymphocyte activation during antigenic stimulation by reducing IL-2 and other T cell derived cytokine production. It also blocks eosinophil uptake and activation, keratinocyte cytokine production, Langerhans cell functions, mast cell degranulation, and histamine release.
The product does not reduce hematopoiesis and has no effect on phagocytic cell function. It provides targeted relief from atopic dermatitis symptoms without suppressing the entire immune system.
Each ml contains cyclosporine 100 mg. Excipients: all rac alpha tocopherol (E 307) 1 mg.
Dogs: Treatment of clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis. Do not use in dogs under 6 months of age or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use in animals with a history of malignant disorders or progressive malignant disorders.
