For skin and soft tissue infections, treatment lasts at least 5 days and can extend up to 40 days. For urinary tract infections, treatment lasts at least 10 days, up to 28 days if prostatitis or upper tract infections are present.
At the recommended therapeutic dose, no serious adverse reactions are expected. Mild side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, polydipsia, polyuria, and hyperactivity may occur occasionally and resolve spontaneously. Rarely, nervous symptoms like ataxia, agitation, aggression, convulsions, and joint pain may appear.
