Marbofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, leading to bacterial cell death. It is effective against pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus intermedius, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Cats: For infected wounds and abscesses: 2 mg/kg/day as a single subcutaneous injection for 3 to 5 days. For surgical infection prevention: 2 mg/kg as a single intravenous injection just before surgery.
