VETMEDIN VET 5 MG 100 CHEWABLE TABLETS offers two advantages for long-term cardiac treatment: a chewable tablet that dogs readily accept and a convenient 100-tablet pack. It contains 5 mg of pimobendan and is indicated for dogs with congestive heart failure.
For what do you use it
Pimobendan improves cardiac function in three ways: it increases the heart's contractility so it pumps more efficiently, produces mixed vasodilation that reduces blood pressure and the workload on the heart, and exerts an antithrombotic effect that helps prevent blood clots. It is indicated for congestive heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy or associated with valvular insufficiency (mitral and tricuspid regurgitation). It is also used to delay the onset of signs in preclinical dilated cardiomyopathy in Doberman Pinschers diagnosed by echocardiography and in myxomatous mitral valve disease with murmur and cardiac enlargement.
How it is presented
- Box of 100 chewable, divisible and palatable tablets.
- Pimobendan 5 mg per tablet.
- Medium-large sized dogs; the range also includes 1,25 mg, 2,5 mg and 10 mg.
How it is administered
Oral administration. The tablet can be given as a treat or broken along the score line if the veterinarian prescribes half tablets. The quantity and number of daily doses depend on the weight and diagnosis, and are determined by the veterinarian; maintaining a consistent schedule helps ensure the treatment is effective.
FAQ

For dogs with congestive heart failure and, at the discretion of a veterinarian, for preclinical cases of dilated cardiomyopathy or myxomatous mitral valve disease.
How long will a box of 100 tablets last me?
It depends on the number of tablets or halves your dog takes per day. For continuous daily treatment, it provides coverage for several weeks or months.
Can the tablet be split?
Yes, it is divisible to precisely adjust the dose to the dog's weight, always according to the veterinarian's guidelines.
What do I do if I forget a take?
