Pharmacological properties
Terramycin has great stability even in the presence of decomposing tissues and a great diffusion capacity. The incorporation of a foam-forming vehicle, apart from representing an excellent uterine tone activator, performs complete distribution of terramycin through the uterus, placing the antibacterial in close contact with the entire endometrial surface.
Interactions and incompatibilities
Do not administer together with bactericidal antibacterials, such as chloramphenicol and aminoglycosides. Cross-resistance occurs among members of the tetracycline group.
Indications and target species
Bristles: Abortion and metritis.
sheep y Goats: abortion.
Cows: Abortion, metritis and retained placenta.
Mares: Abortion and metritis.
Contraindications
Do not administer to animals with a history of hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.
Route of administration
intrauterine.
Posology
All species: 1 tablet/female after delivery or 1 tablet/female/day until resolution of metritis.
Wait time
Meat: 18 days.
Milk: 2 days.
