Simparica Trio 5-10 kg is the oral antiparasitic formulation for dogs weighing 5 to 10 kg from Zoetis. One chewable tablet per month protects against external and internal parasites: adult fleas, ticks, intestinal and respiratory worms, and heartworm prevention. The box contains three tablets.
For what do you use it
It is indicated for the monthly control of fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.), ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus), gastrointestinal and respiratory nematodes (Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Crenosoma vulpis, Angiostrongylus vasorum), and for the prevention of heartworm disease. Sarolaner controls external parasites, and moxidectin provides cardiac and pulmonary protection, along with a third active ingredient effective against roundworms. Liver flavoring helps ensure dogs eat it without fuss.
How it is presented
- Box of 3 chewable tablets; other sizes and boxes of 1, 3 or 6 units depending on weight.
- Three active ingredients (sarolaner, moxidectin and a third one against worms), with natural liver flavorings; the exact composition is listed in the leaflet.
- Dogs weighing 5 to 10 kg, from 8 weeks old and 1,25 kg. Not suitable for cats or other species.
How it is administered
One whole tablet per month, taken orally, with or without food; do not break or crush it. The manufacturer states that fleas are eliminated in about 8 hours and ticks in 12 to 48 hours, depending on the species. Pregnant or lactating females should be treated by a veterinarian, who will also decide whether the treatment should be continued year-round.

From 8 weeks of age and 1,25 kg, provided their weight is already between 5 and 10 kg for this presentation. If they are lighter, smaller sizes are available.
What should I do if he vomits after feeding?
If vomiting occurs within the next two hours, consult your veterinarian to assess whether the dose should be repeated.
Does it also cover lungworm?
Yes, it acts against Angiostrongylus vasorum and Crenosoma vulpis, as well as preventing dirofilariasis.
What happens if I forget for a month?
Manage it as soon as you remember and ask the vet to help you readjust the dates so you don't leave any gaps.
