Even puppies and toy breeds can bring fleas, ticks, and worms home. Simparica Trio 1,5-2,5 kg is a chewable oral antiparasitic from Zoetis for very small dogs that provides protection against both external and internal parasites, including heartworm, in a single monthly tablet. The box contains three tablets.
For what do you use it
It combines three active ingredients: sarolaner eliminates fleas and ticks, moxidectin prevents heartworm and treats some roundworms, and pyrantel is effective against intestinal worms. It also covers ear mites. It is designed for puppies from 8 weeks old and 1,25 kg and for very small adult dogs exposed to parasites; with one dose per month, all deworming is concentrated in a single application.
How it is presented
- Box of 3 chewable tablets, three months of protection; boxes of 1 and 6 units are also available.
- Per tablet: sarolaner 3 mg, moxidectin 0,06 mg and pyrantel (as pamoate) 12,5 mg.
- Dogs weighing 1,5 to 2,5 kg and from 8 weeks of age.
How it is administered
One chewable tablet is given monthly, either directly into the mouth or crumbled over food; the dog does not need to fast. The veterinarian must confirm that the puppy meets the minimum age and weight requirements and, if the dog was not previously on a preventative program, will consider heartworm testing before starting.

What do I do when my dog weighs more than 2,5 kg?
You will need to move to the next size up (2,5-5 kg). For growing puppies, it's advisable to weigh them every month to ensure you don't run out of doses.
What side effects can it have?
They are rare and usually mild: vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy. Tremors or seizures are very uncommon. If anything persists, consult your veterinarian.
How do I preserve it?
At room temperature, up to 30 °C, protected from light and moisture, in its original packaging.
What if I forget a monthly dose?
Administer it as soon as you remember and call the veterinarian to readjust the schedule, especially if you live in a heartworm risk area.
