RIMADYL LA 50ML is an injectable solution of carprofen, 50 mg per ml, for cattle. The 50 ml vial is used in conjunction with antibiotic treatment in acute cases.

For what do you use it

A cow with acute mastitis or a respiratory infection presents with fever, pain, and lethargy. This nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) reduces clinical signs when used in conjunction with antimicrobial therapy. Carprofen has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties, and studies in cattle with experimental mastitis have shown improvement in heart rate and rumen function.

How it is administered

No. As there are no compatibility studies, the package leaflet indicates not to mix it with other veterinary medicines.

What should it not be combined with?

Which animals are excluded?

Those with heart disease, liver or kidney disease, gastrointestinal ulcer, bleeding, or blood dyscrasia.

It should be avoided in dehydrated animals, those with low blood volume or low blood pressure, due to the risk of kidney toxicity.
