Pharmacological properties

• Contains a guaranteed level of live probiotics from an exclusive strain of SF68® (5 × 108 CFU/g): A proprietary microencapsulation process favors stability, thus guaranteeing the levels of live beneficial bacteria that enter the gastrointestinal tract.
• Shown to Support Healthy, Balanced Bowel Function: Contains the lactic acid bacterium Enterococcus faecium SF68®, at levels shown to support normal, healthy bowel function and microbial balance in cats and dogs.
• Shown to support a strong immune system: To help keep the patient healthy.

Indications and target species

Dogs and cats:

• Diarrhea/poor fecal quality/flatulence, associated with: Imbalance of the intestinal microflora, stress, antibiotic treatment, change of diet.
• As prevention in situations that may cause the appearance of diarrhea:

Predictable stress situation (eg, travel, stay in residences, weaning, new home, visit to the vet, hospitalization, hairdresser, competitions, etc.).

Antibiotic treatment.

Change of diet (eg, introduction of a prescription diet, change from one maintenance food to another).

• Palatability enhancer.

Route of administration

Orally.

Posology

Diarrhea/poor fecal quality/flatulence: Administer one sachet of FortiFlora®* per day until at least 7 days after the disappearance of symptoms.

As prevention in situations that may cause the appearance of diarrhea:

Predictable stress situation: Administer one sachet of FortiFlora® per day for 3 days before the stress situation, during the days that the stress situation lasts and for the next 3 days once the stress situation has ended.

Antibiotic treatment: Administer one sachet of FortiFlora® daily for the duration of antibiotic treatment and continue until at least 7 days after the last dose of antibiotic. Administer FortiFlora® at least 3 hours before or after the administration of the antibiotic.

Change of diet: Administer one sachet of FortiFlora® per day 3 days before the start of the transition to the new food and for the following 7 days.

• FortiFlora® can be safely used in puppies and kittens from weaning. FortiFlora® can be used daily for an indefinite period of time.

*Sprinkle the contents of a FortiFlora® sachet on the cat's or dog's usual food. Administer one sachet of FortiFlora® a day regardless of the size and age of the cat or dog.
