4.1 Target species
Cats and dogs
4.2 Indications for use, specifying the target species
Cats:
Indicated for the treatment of infected wounds and abscesses caused by clindamycin-sensitive species of Staphylococcus spp. y Streptococcus spp..
Dogs:
• For the treatment of infected wounds, abscesses and infections of the oral cavity/teeth caused by or associated with clindamycin-susceptible species of Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Clostridium perfringens.
• Adjuvant treatment of mechanical or surgical periodontal therapy in the treatment of gingival and periodontal tissue infections.
• For the treatment of osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus.
4.3 Contraindications
Do not administer to rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, horses or ruminants as the
ingestion of clindamycin by these species can cause gastrointestinal disorders

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin, or to any of the
excipients.

should avoid all contact with the veterinary medicinal product

4.9 Amounts to be administered and administration route
For oral administration only.
Recommended doses:
Cats:
Infected wounds, abscesses: 11 mg clindamycin per kg body weight every 24 hours or
5,5 mg/kg of body weight every 12 hours for 7 to 10 days.
Treatment should be discontinued if no therapeutic effects are observed after 4 days.
Dogs:
Infected wounds, abscesses and infections of the oral cavity or teeth: 11 mg of
clindamycin per kg body weight every 24 hours or 5,5 mg/kg body weight every 12
hours for 7 to 10 days.
Treatment should be discontinued if no therapeutic effects are observed after 4 days.
Treatment of bone infections (osteomyelitis): 11 mg of clindamycin per kg of weight
body every 12 hours for a minimum period of 28 days. The treatment should
discontinue if no therapeutic effects are observed after 14 days.

A 3 ml graduated syringe is included to facilitate the administration of the medication
vet.
4.10 Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), if necessary
Doses of 300 mg/kg body weight were tolerated in dogs without adverse effects.
Vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, leukocytosis, and elevated blood pressure were occasionally observed.
liver enzymes (AST, ALT). In such cases, immediately discontinue treatment and
establish symptomatic treatment.

6.5 Nature and composition of immediate packaging
Box with a 22 ml transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) vial with safety closure
HDPE/LDPE and low density polyethylene dosing syringe.
6.6 Special precautions for disposal of the veterinary medicinal product not
used or, where appropriate, the residues derived from its use
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or residues derived from it must be disposed of
in accordance with local regulations
