Mitex – Ear Drops and Skin Suspension for Dogs and Cats

Mitex is an effective and versatile veterinary treatment for bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections in the ears and skin of dogs and cats. Its advanced formula with miconazole, prednisolone, and polymyxin B works quickly and effectively, relieving discomfort and eliminating infection-causing microorganisms.

What is Mitex and what is it used for?

• Target species: Dogs and cats.
• Indications:
  • Treatment for external otitis caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli or yeasts such as Malassezia pachydermatis.
  • Control of minor superficial skin infections.
  • Treatment of ear mite infestations (Otodectes cynotis).

Active Composition per ml

• Miconazole nitrate: 23 mg (antifungal action).
• Prednisolone acetate: 5 mg (anti-inflammatory properties).
• Polymyxin B sulfate: 0,5293 mg (antibacterial activity).

Dosage and administration

Route: Otic and cutaneous.

• External otitis:
  • Instill 5 drops into the ear canal twice a day.
  • Continue treatment for 7-14 days or until symptoms disappear.
  • For mite infestations, treat both ears for 14 days.
• Skin infections:
  • Apply a few drops to the lesion and rub gently twice a day.
  • Extend treatment up to 14 days as needed.

Cautions and warnings

1. Do not use in cases of:
   • Perforated eardrum.
   • Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or excipients.
2. Avoid:
   • Accidental ingestion of the product.
   • Use in mammary glands of lactating females.
3. Supervise:
   • Application on large areas to avoid systemic effects of corticosteroids.
