AURIZON 10 ML | FOR EXTERNAL OTITIS IN DOGS AND CATS

A dog that shakes its head, has a foul odor from its ears, and scratches its ear likely has otitis. AURIZON 10 ML are ear drops that combine an antibiotic, an antifungal, and a corticosteroid for external otitis caused by bacteria or fungi.

For what do you use it

It is indicated for otitis externa caused by bacteria susceptible to marbofloxacin and by fungi such as Malassezia pachydermatis, which are susceptible to clotrimazole. Dexamethasone reduces inflammation. The manufacturer primarily presents it for dogs; if you have a cat, consult your veterinarian first. It is a topical treatment, applied only to the external ear canal and for the duration prescribed by the veterinarian; do not extend the treatment on your own.

How it is presented

• 10 ml bottle with 1 cannula.
• Per drop: marbofloxacin 71 µg, clotrimazole 237 µg and dexamethasone 23,7 µg.

How it is administered

Shake the bottle. Put 10 drops into the affected ear once a day for 7 to 14 days. Then gently massage the base of the ear. Beforehand, carefully clean and dry the ear canal. After 7 days, the veterinarian will assess whether to continue the treatment. Use one applicator per animal. Keep the dog calm for a few moments after applying the drops so it doesn't shake immediately and lose some of the product.

When should AURIZON 10 ML not be used?

Contraindicated in cases of perforated eardrum, hypersensitivity to any component, and in pregnant or lactating females. Before application, the veterinarian checks that the tympanic membrane is intact.

How long does it last once opened?

Once opened, the contents must be used within a maximum of 2 months.

How do I save it?

Store below 30°C. Once opened, use within 2 months.

What effects can occur?

Increased alkaline phosphatase and transaminases, transient deafness in older dogs, and effects typical of corticosteroids if use is prolonged.

Should I wash my hands?

Yes, after applying it. If it gets in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water.
