EFFIPRO DUO is a topical ectoparasiticide for dogs. It treats and prevents infestations of fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
The active ingredients are fipronil and pyriproxyfen. Fipronil kills adult fleas and ticks. Pyriproxyfen prevents flea eggs from developing into adult fleas, breaking the flea life cycle.
A single treatment prevents flea infestations for 7 weeks and stops flea multiplication for 12 weeks. Against ticks, it provides persistent acaricidal efficacy for 2 weeks against Ixodes ricinus and for 4 weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus. If ticks from the latter two species are present at application, not all ticks will die within 48 hours.
