Treats and prevents flea and tick infestations, including Ctenocephalides spp. and Ixodes ricinus.
EFFINOL SPRAY contains fipronil 2.5 mg/ml as the active substance. It is a topical solution for cutaneous spray application in dogs and cats. The product treats and prevents infestations by fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) in dogs. In cats, it also covers Rhipicephalus spp., Ixodes scapularis, and Dermacentor variabilis.
Fipronil works by disrupting the insect's central nervous system, leading to paralysis and death of fleas and ticks. It can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). Additionally, it treats lice infestations in dogs (Trichodectes canis) and cats (Felicola subrostratus).
The product is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow solution. It is contraindicated in sick, febrile, or convalescent animals, and in rabbits due to risk of adverse reactions or death. Avoid contact with eyes and damaged skin. Do not bathe animals 2 days before or after treatment.
Active ingredient: Fipronil 2.5 mg per ml. Excipients: see section 6.1 of the product literature.
