DEXABIOPEN is an antibacterial and steroidal anti-inflammatory injectable suspension. It treats infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to benzylpenicillin and dihydrostreptomycin that present with acute inflammation.
The product combines benzylpenicillin procaine (200,000 IU per ml) and dihydrostreptomycin (200 mg per ml) as antibiotics, plus dexamethasone (0.50 mg per ml) as a steroid anti-inflammatory. The penicillin and aminoglycoside provide broad-spectrum bactericidal action, while dexamethasone reduces inflammation and swelling.
