Treats BRD caused by Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Histophilus somni.
COBACTAN 7.5% LA is an injectable antibacterial suspension for cattle. It contains cefquinome, a cephalosporin antibiotic active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. These include pathogens responsible for bovine respiratory disease (BRD) such as Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Histophilus somni.
Cefquinome works by disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. The product is indicated for the treatment of BRD associated with these susceptible pathogens. Efficacy is based on bacterial susceptibility testing and adherence to official antimicrobial policies.
The recommended dose is 2.5 mg cefquinome per kg body weight, equivalent to 1 ml of COBACTAN 7.5% LA per 30 kg. Two injections are given 48 hours apart. Accurate weight determination is essential to avoid underdosing.
Each ml contains cefquinome (as sulfate) 75 mg.
