The active substance is meloxicam 20 mg per mL, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces inflammation and pain. It is administered via intramuscular, intravenous, or subcutaneous routes.
Contraindications include cardiac insufficiency, gastric ulcer, renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency, hypersensitivity, pregnant or lactating mares, horses under 6 weeks, calves under 1 week, and gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Adverse effects are rare: injection site inflammation or anaphylactoid reaction (less than 1 in 10,000 animals).
