BUSCAPINA COMPOSITUM 30 ml is an injectable solution for horses. It treats spasmodic colic and esophageal obstruction. The product combines two active ingredients: butylscopolamine bromide, an antispasmodic agent, and metamizole sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
Butylscopolamine bromide antagonizes acetylcholine actions. This provides spasmolytic effects, increases heart rate, and inhibits salivary and lacrimal secretion. Metamizole sodium delivers anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects.
After parenteral administration, both active substances are eliminated mainly through urine. In horses, a single intravenous injection typically provides relief for 4 to 6 hours. Most cases require only one administration.
Each ml contains butylscopolamine bromide 4 mg and metamizole sodium 500 mg. Excipients include phenol 5 mg.
