BRAVECTO PLUS is an endectoparasiticide solution for topical use in cats. It treats mixed parasitic infestations including fleas, ticks, ear mites, gastrointestinal nematodes, and prevents heartworm disease. The active substances fluralaner and moxidectin provide broad spectrum control.
The product works by exposing fleas and ticks to the active substance after they attach and begin feeding. It offers immediate and persistent activity against Ctenocephalides felis and Ixodes ricinus for 12 weeks. It also treats ear mites (Otodectes cynotis) and intestinal roundworms (Toxocara cati) and hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme).
Clinical trials showed frequent mild and transient skin reactions at the application site such as alopecia, scaling, and pruritus. Infrequent adverse reactions included dyspnea, hypersalivation, vomiting, hematemesis, diarrhea, lethargy, pyrexia, tachypnea, and mydriasis shortly after administration.
