Treats respiratory, digestive, and urinary bacterial infections in pigs, calves, and dogs.
Baytril 0.5% oral solution is an antibacterial and antimycoplasmal medication for pigs, calves, and dogs. It treats bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, digestive tract, urinary tract, skin, and wounds. It also treats colibacillary diarrhea and septicemia in pigs, and MMA syndrome in sows.
Enrofloxacin, the active ingredient, is a fluoroquinolone that kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase. It has a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity and antimycoplasmal action.
Dosage varies by species and condition. For pigs, give 2.5 mg enrofloxacin per kg body weight daily for 3 days. For MMA syndrome, treat for 1 to 2 days. For calves, give 2.5 mg per kg daily for 5 days. For dogs, give 5 mg per kg daily for 5 days. Do not inject more than 2.5 ml per site in pigs or 10 ml per site in calves.
Each ml contains 50 mg of enrofloxacin.
