AUDEVARD NEXMECTIN is a broad spectrum oral antiparasitic for horses containing ivermectin 18.7 mg/g. It treats and controls gastrointestinal nematodes including Strongylus spp. and Parascaris equorum, pulmonary nematodes, and larvae of Gasterophilus spp. (bot flies). The product is well tolerated in pregnant and lactating mares.
Ivermectin works by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels in parasite nerve and muscle cells, causing paralysis and death of the parasite. Each syringe contains 6.42 g of paste, delivering 200 mcg ivermectin per kg body weight. The graduated syringe allows accurate dosing for horses up to 600 kg.
