ARPON 100ML is an ectoparasiticide emulsion for topical use in cattle and horses. It treats flies (Haematobia irritans, Musca autumnalis, Hydrotaea irritans) and lice (Linognathus spp., Haematopinus spp.). It is not for horses whose meat is intended for human consumption.
Cipermetrina, a type II pyrethroid, acts on contact by affecting sodium channels in the nerve membrane. It prolongs the transient increase in sodium permeability during excitation, persistently modifies sodium channels, depolarizes the membrane, and blocks the action potential without causing repetitive presynaptic activity.
No side effects or contraindications are described. For flies, spray at the start of the fly season and repeat monthly; for heavy infestations, spray every 15 days. For lice, spray the entire body when lice are observed and repeat as needed with a minimum 14-day interval. Use a 0.1% solution (1 mL ARPON per 100 mL water). Apply 500 mL for adults, 250 mL for young cattle, and 125 mL for calves and foals.
